REAL mind reading doesn't exist. But here's the trick that looks like it does - and it's easier than you'd think.
Before you start, write down three different predictions. Put them in different pockets.
Example predictions:
1. "They're thinking of red"
2. "They're thinking of blue"
3. "They're thinking of green"
Say: "I'm going to read your mind. Focus on a color in your mind."
Wait 10 seconds dramatically.
Then reach into the pocket that matches their body language:
- Fidgety = first color (red)
- Confident = second color (blue)
- Look away = third color (green)
This is called "reading calibration."
Say this with confidence:
"I sense you're thinking about someone close to you. There was a decision you made recently that you're not sure was right. You wish you had more confidence in your choices."
These describe MOST people. They think: "HOW did they know?!"
"Think of a number between 1-50. Don't tell me."
"It's odd, isn't it?"
Wait for reaction. If they say yes, pivot. If no, pivot to "that's interesting..."
Use their REACTION to "confirm" your guess.
This is called "feedback reading."
"Think of any word. Don't tell me."
"Wait - before you commit, here's a question. Are you more of a coffee or tea person?"
Whatever they answer, THAT's the category of their word.
"OK now tell me your word... I sense it's [category-related]."
You've now narrowed it down massively.
